Peter Barrand

  • Peter has over 15 years of experience in the Corporate Finance advisory market.
  • Prior to founding Ignition Corporate Finance, Peter was a Partner at Hurst Morrison Thomson and before that a Director at PwC.
  • Peter's experience covers a wide range of buy and sell-side transactions for both private and public companies, as well as working extensively with venture capital and private equity investors.
  • Peter's career has seen him work in Bristol, Brussels and London and most recently in the Thames Valley, where he was recognized as the Corporate Financier of the year in 2011.
  • Peter also has first-hand commercial experience working as an interim Finance Director at a public company.
  • Peter has a degree in Accounting and Finance from Cardiff Business School, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Securities Institute.
  • Peter is enthusiastic about a wide range of sports including rugby, football and tennis although he spends most of his time coaching now rather than playing.

Finbar Canavan

  • Finbar has over 20 years of experience in the Corporate Finance advisory market.
  • Prior to founding Ignition Corporate Finance, Finbar enjoyed ten years as a Partner at PwC where he led a wide range of assignments encompassing mid-market company sales, corporate acquisitions, management buy-outs, debt and equity finance raising and strategic option reviews.
  • Finbar has also worked closely with shareholders, advising them on their long term corporate strategies, as well as providing the "hands-on" financial and strategic advice required to prepare businesses for a corporate transaction.
  • Finbar's career has seen him work across Europe having completed secondments in Geneva, Brussels and Budapest.
  • Finbar has a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • Finbar is an enthusiastic golfer, a lover of old movies and is highly proficient at thinking of compelling reasons for not going to the gym.
